Travel + Leisure magazine has award National Car Rental the best car rental service fifth year straight. The magazine's World's Best Awards survey, "asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe - share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Car-rental companies were rated on their service, value, vehicle selection and availability, and rental locations." Categories included vehicle selection, professionalism, hospitality and overall value were some of the categories surveyed.

First, second and fourth are all part of Enterprise Holdings. Avis, previously fourth on the list last year, dropped off and allowed Alamo to swoop in and take its spot. Sixt is the only European company to make the list. National received an award at a special celebration in New York City when the magazine honored top travel destinations, companies and brands across the globe rated by its readers. And while ranking top of the list for the firth year straight, National has also qualified for the World's Best list for the 23rd year. Readers praised National's Emerald Club loyalty program, which allows members to bypass the check-in counter and choose their own cars from dedicated aisles.
