Enterprise Holdings is celebrating after hitting a historic landmark of the opening of its 10,000th global location. The iconic 10,000th location is located at Rockville, Maryland. Which is also Enterprise's 100th location in Maryland and 172nd location in the greater Washington region. It took the company 61 years to hit this milestone. Enterprise started its first leasing office in 1957 in St.Louis Missouri, with a fleet of seven cars. Back then, the company was known as "Executive Leasing Company," and wasn't till 1969 when the company was renamed Enterprise after the aircraft carrier.
Today, Enterprise Holdings operates multiple brands which includes Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car. Being the world's largest car rental company, Enterprise Holdings is responsible for more than 70 million annual car rental and car sharing transactions in more than 90 countries and territories. "Opening our 10,000th location not only is a major milestone for Enterprise, but also for the entire global car rental and car sharing industry," said Chrissy Taylor, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "This kind of growth further reinforces the industry's leadership role overall and helps make location transportation infrastructure even stronger and more resilient, especially as technology evolves in the future."
The new 2464 square foot Enterprise facility occupies a building that has been vacant for the last seven years. While maintaining their commitment to environmental stewardship and smart business, sustainable upgrades were implemented for this new location, including a newly constructed automatic car wash. Enterprise Holdings currently offer some of the most effective and sustainable options in the ground transportation sector. Enterprise's multi modal neighborhood business model features a wide variety of programs in addition to car rental, including retail car sales, truck rental, fleet management, exotic car rental, carsharing and van-pooling. Celebrating their 10,000th location, Enterprise is giving away 10,000 Enterprise Plus points to 10 winners. It requires as little as 400 points for a free car rental.
